#Poem Defacement

My fragments communicate by Wi-Fi.
His are hard-wired.
My hypertext won’t buffer his raw thump.

If I was at home I’d climb into the attic
and wrap myself in rockwool,
rehearse directions to the Velux
and the emergency ladder.

He punches
the air.
Once.
I can see why he doesn’t want to stick around.
But do I deserve to keep all my teeth
when they’ve lost their bite?
